The #1 Reason Web Projects Fail: Poor Scoping

Day after day, I talk to people who have had a nightmare experience with their web person.

I hear the stories of cost overruns, bad communication, missed deadlines and just overall terrible experience working together.

The sad part is that this is completely avoidable by taking extra time in one crucial part of the web project…

SCOPING THE JOB PROPERLY.

When a project scope is vague, it will definitely be easier to get a “quote” put together more quickly, but you are setting yourself up for project disaster in the long run.

Your project should be outlined down to the tiniest detail, ensuring that every item that would affect time and cost has been accounted for – no surprises.

Why don’t people do this if the stress of not doing it is so high?

Easy. It takes time.

Time to think, time to plan, time to talk to your team, time to get clear, time to write it all down…

It is so much easier to just say, “I want a new e-commerce site built – how much??”

Take it from me…the key to a successful web project is to plan it out properly from the beginning. Anything else is guessing.

Not sure how to do that? Check out my free course – How To Set Your Website Project Up For Success, where I walk you through step-by-step how to plan out all your project’s details.
