Web Development Should Support Marketing — Not Lead It

One thing I say to my agency colleagues all the time is that your web team should be the LAST people in the pool.

Us web folks work FOR the marketers.

A Website Is a Sales Tool, Not a Standalone Asset

A website should not stand alone and just be “pretty” or “cool”.

A website is a sales tool whose purpose is to support the marketing effort.

Why Marketers Must Define the Strategy First

Example: if you’re a SEO agency working on a website optimization project, create your gameplan first and THEN have the web people build what you need.

If the website is not supporting the marketing plan, it is not doing its job.
